About The Veil Press

Independent press documenting durable power — architecture, money, narrative, access — with books as the deep layer and the desk as the continuous signal.

What we publish

The Veil Press publishes institutional histories: careful maps of how power is organized, financed, and made durable. We do not chase cabals in the shadows. We follow corporations, charters, markets, and the premises that hold them up.

Work lands on two surfaces. The Desk carries sourced analysis as packages clear review. The Library holds the long record — volumes you can keep, cite, and return to.

The series

Each volume under The Veil examines a load-bearing piece of the modern order. Volume I is The Veil of the Square Mile — the invisible British financial empire, from the City of London Corporation through offshore finance, policy machines, and the digital green veil.

The Companion Guide (The Map) is the apparatus: glossary, timelines, dynastic trees, bibliography, and steelman counter-arguments. Further volumes will follow under the same imprint and the same standard of evidence.

How we work

Claims are owned in the first person. Sources are listed. When the record runs out, we say so. The site is a projection of approved packages — not a second brain inventing entities or scores for show.

Softcover and hardcover of The Veil of the Square Mile ship now. Signed hardcover is a short run. The Companion Guide hardcover follows in about a week. Digital editions are available immediately.

The author

Jack Schumacher writes institutional history for readers who want the record, not the melodrama. The press is independent. Checkout runs through Gumroad; shipping and fulfillment follow each product listing.
